Black velvet with an embroidered garden across the back — a central sage-green fern flanked by two large paisleys in ochre and rose, a pink sunflower at the hem, and matching borders at the collar and cuffs. The front carries the same palette in lighter sprays. Open-front, stand collar, boxy and one-size; the most traditional of the velvet jackets and the easiest to dress up.
