An embroidered velvet jacket is the easiest statement piece you'll own. It's open-front, one-size and relaxed, so it layers over almost anything — and because the embroidery is the point, you don't need to do much else. Here are five outfits that work, and a few notes on picking the right print.
1. Jeans, white tee, velvet jacket
The default, and for good reason. Straight or wide-leg jeans in a mid or dark wash, a plain white or cream tee, and the jacket worn open. This is where the Navy Evil Eye and Slate Evil Eye jackets live: a graphic motif against a plain base. Add a brass or gold hoop and you're done.
2. Over a slip dress
A satin or silk slip in a solid colour — black, ivory, olive — with the jacket over it turns a summer dress into an autumn one. The Ivory jacket over a black slip is the cleanest version; the Rust Hearts over olive is the warmest. Keep the shoes simple: a flat mule or a low block heel.
3. Monochrome underneath, jacket as the colour
Head-to-toe black or head-to-toe cream, then the jacket. Because every piece in the collection is lined in a contrast stripe, the open front gives you a second accent for free. The Black Blossom jacket with its pink braided borders does this especially well over all-black.
4. Tucked in with a wide belt
Not every jacket needs to hang open. Over a fitted ribbed top and high-waisted trousers, cinch the jacket with a wide leather belt at the waist. It reads as a structured blazer rather than a cardigan. Works best with the denser all-over embroidery — the Olive Suzani and Black Paisley — where the belt doesn't cut through a central motif.
5. The patchwork jacket with everything
The one non-velvet piece in the collection, the Blue Patchwork, is quilted cotton pieced from a dozen different block prints. It's lighter, buttons closed, and has pockets, so it behaves like a chore jacket. Wear it over a striped breton top, over a dress on a cool morning, or buttoned up on its own. It's the one you'll reach for most.
Picking a print
- If your wardrobe is mostly neutrals: go bold — Raspberry Evil Eye, Rust Hearts, Olive Suzani. The jacket does all the work.
- If you already wear a lot of colour: Ivory, Black Blossom or Black Paisley give you embroidery without competing.
- If you want the most versatile one: Navy Evil Eye. Navy goes with denim, black, cream and camel; the motif is distinctive without being loud.
Fit and care
Every jacket is one size with a relaxed, boxy cut — it fits most, and the open front means there's nothing to strain. Sleeves are full length with turn-back cuffs if you prefer them shorter. Velvet wants gentle handling: dry clean, or spot clean with a damp cloth; never machine wash or tumble dry. Hang it, don't fold it, and keep it out of direct sun.
